New Zealand day 9

Today was one of my favourite days, the sun was shining, it was really warm and we weren't hungover!

We headed into Auckland to catch the ferry to Waiheke Island. It was about a 40 minute journey and the waters were calm which was good.

Once arriving on the island we taxid up to Cable Bay, a beautiful vineyard with a very nice restaurant and equally nice view straight down to the sea.

Instead of ordering separate meals we opted for a mix of all the light bites which were fantastic! Snacks included meatballs in tomato sauce with bread, a cheese and cracker platter with honey, prawns in a garlic and tomato sauce and focaccia and pita bread with humous and beetroot dips. We of course indulged in the vineyard wines too!

After lunch we headed to Oneroa and had more drinks in the beach front cafe Charlie Farleys. The sand was flawless and the waters clear!

All in all a great day out on Waiheke. Later we all headed into town (Ponsonby Road again!) to a great little bar called Snatch where we all partied into the early hours.
